Marketing Manager
JOB DESCRIPTION
This position will be responsible for executing the day-to-day outbound product marketing and positioning of Cyan's products. Responsibilities include marketing plans and deliverables development, market opportunity and competitor assessment, product positioning, market analysis, and sales training and support.
Interface effectively with Product Management, Customer Support, Business Operations, Business Development, Sales, and Direct Customers. Plan, prioritize, drive and develop material for multiple products including launch materials, customer presentations, videos, and sales training materials.
Responsibilities include:
- Conduct market and competitor analysis
- Proactively monitor market trends, sales reports, etc. Provide insights and make recommendations which are aligned with short and long-term business priorities.
- Effectively develop messaging and positioning to demonstrate the value and compelling differentiators of Cyan's solutions
- Define and implement marketing campaigns to promote product adoption
- Lead development and deployment of necessary training to Cyan sales representatives. Anticipate and address needs of various sales and distribution channels and geographies.
QUALIFICATIONS
- BSEE or equivalent with five years or more of outbound marketing experience in a comparable function
- Must have strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to be succinct yet compelling
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills and demonstrate a history of high-level achievement in cross-functional organizations
- Practical working knowledge of optical transmission systems, Ethernet systems and services, SONET/SDH systems and services, OSS and network management systems
- The ability to synthesize complex technical and market considerations with product capabilities to illustrate the value of Cyan's products for service providers
- Track record of success in producing compelling white papers, data sheets, case studies, presentations, webinars and marketing programs
- Self starter with attention to detail
- Professional who takes ownership of projects from beginning to end
- Travel required
Additional Considerations
- Individuals with a demonstrated ability to transition from individual contributor to team builder and leader
- Strong competitive knowledge in the metro, regional and long haul transport space
- Solid understanding of IP/MPLS for transport applications
- Website experience with Drupal for updating/creating web pages
- Video recording / editing for web posting
