Engineering – System Integration
JOB DESCRIPTION
The System Integration role focuses on the integration of multi-layer software implementations in an embedded telecom application. The role involves working with the development team during the integration development phase to ensure correct system operation. This requires the application of software analysis tools and the development of automation testing in both lab and simulation testing environments. The role requires extensive problem solving and troubleshooting in a distributed system.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design test methodologies and test cases related to in development features to ensure correct operation of hardware and software implementations.
- Work with the feature development team to perform fault identification and isolation.
- Perform lab testing on a multi-node system using Ethernet, OTN, and SONET test sets.
- Extend automation and test capabilities to aid feature development team.
- Identification of software analysis tools (such as memory management verification, threading analysis, and code coverage profiling) to aid in evaluating feature implementations.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 5 years relevant experience
- Programming experience in an embedded system application
- Comprehensive problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
- Good communication skills (verbal and written)
Candidates who are additionally familiar with any of the following will have a significant advantage:
- Linux and programming for Linux
- Exposure to software analysis tools (memory management verification, threading analysis, code coverage profiling, software simulation)
- Transport product operation and reliability requirements
- Lab testing using test instruments in the areas of Ethernet testing, SONET testing, or OTN testing
- Relevant Telcordia, ITU, and IEEE requirements
